The Batesburg-Leesville Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Batesburg-Leesville are proud to announce this year’s Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 10th starting at 5:30pm. Peace on Earth has been selected as the theme for this year’s event.

“With so much strife and conflict going on in the world,” said Chamber President Mike Taylor, “we should all strive for Peace on Earth and in our community.”

The parade will begin on Columbia Ave (HWY 1) at Bojangles and continue towards Main Street in the Leesville Historic District. From there illuminated floats, marchers, and other parade entries will make their way to College Park. The Ministerial Alliance, a group comprised of pastors from Batesburg-Leesville and the surrounding area, will serve as Grand Marshall.

Following the parade, hot chocolate, cookies, and caroling will take place in Leesville College Park. CCPAC Dance and Batesburg-Leesville Elementary School Honors Choir will perform on stage. Santa with Mrs. Claus will also be on hand for pictures.

To close the evening, Mayor Lancer Shull will light the Town Christmas Tree and lead those attending in a candle light rendition of Let There Be Peace on Earth.

“This year’s event is going to be great,” said Mayor Shull. “We are expecting a huge turnout and hope everyone will help us celebrate this holiday season.”
